I’ve been producing a lot of BIG deliverables lately.
Beyond the normal blog posts and podcast episodes, my team and I have been working toward creating new, awesome things—and it’s definitely been a huge undertaking and an incredible learning experience for me.
Within the last month, both the SPI iOS App, and my first software product, The Smart Podcast Player, went live.
Both have had incredible success thus far! The app has been downloaded by almost 5000 people, and the 250 Smart Podcast Player beta licenses sold out within 24 hours.
Whether you’re working with a team of your own or going solo, completing BIG projects beyond your normal editorial calendar can be an extremely difficult task. Often, these projects get started but are never completed. It can get so complicated that it just doesn’t seem worth it to move forward anymore.
That’s why today I’m so happy to introduce you to the team members behind the production of my new SPI iOS application today:
Matt Gartland (the producer), Dustin Tevis (the designer), and Ryan Nystrom (the developer).
Our workflow and approach made it possible to go from scratch to a high-quality, working application with many moving pieces in less than 8 weeks.
My hope is that you can pull examples from our approach into your own workflow for the next big project you’ll be working on. It definitely doesn’t have to be an app—it could be an ebook or a membership site or other software product solution.
Big projects and big undertakings mean big results on the other end. Please enjoy listening to this episode, and I hope you apply these workflow principles into your own business too!
Thank You!
Reviews for the podcast on iTunes are extremely helpful and greatly appreciated! They do matter in the rankings of the show and I read each and every one of them, and feel free to share your URL there so I can contact you later on and say thanks!
And lastly, if you have any questions (or would like answers to previously submitted voicemail questions!), head on over to AskPat.com! The bite-sized show has over a million downloads and counting!
Thanks again for your support, I hope you enjoyed meeting some of my team members today, and look out for another show in the near future with another team member who has been asked about ever since I hired her.
Who is that?
My Executive Assistant, Jessica, who I hired to help me tackle my email pains. She helped me get from nearly 10,000 unread emails (yes, you read that right), to reaching inbox zero almost everyday now. The interview has been recorded, and I can’t wait to share that one with you too.
Don’t forget to subscribe to the show on iTunes or Stitcher to get it automatic updates, or even better, download the app we talked about in today’s episode!
